Californian Poppies or Golden Poppies are a native of California and grow freely throughout the state. In 1903 California Golden Poppy was given the honorary title as the official State flower of California. 

Pick when the blooms are tightly shut to make a lasting cut flower.

California poppy flowers are edible. The golden-yellow petals add colour and create interest to basic salads.

Tips for growing: Sun-loving plants that will tolerate dry conditions and flower all summer long.  Californian Poppies do not like their roots to be disturbed. Sow seeds direct where to grow or start seeds in biodegradable peat pots to move the plant, pot and all to another position.
